Vinpocetine is a chemical compound derived from vincamine which found in the leaves of the lesser periwinkle plant (Vinca minor). 

Vinpocetine is currently banned in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand but it has been used in several countries in Europe and Japan for the treatment of cognitive and circulatory brain disorders such as stroke and dementia. It was said to increase blood flow to the brain in the treatment of cognitive decline, stroke recovery, and epilepsy.
